Playing it Right at BCLC

Problem:
The BCLC wanted to increase the percentage of its employees that demonstrated knowledge and practice of corporate responsibility through responses on an annual survey.

Solution:
A media rich, fun and engaging compulsory eLearning course that touched on the 4 Ps of their corporate responsibility framework: Player, People, Public and Profit.

The introduction has a whimsical set of instructions that support course navigation, which includes a learner centred design. The BCLC is a very brand conscious organization, and this course raised the standard for brand adherence in courseware development.

Learners can go straight to the final quiz, which is very important for compulsory training that is scheduled several times within an employees employment at the company. Students that have the knowledge can prove this without having to go through the course.

Each section has an introductory video, activating the schema for the learner before they are presented with the information provided in the course.

Topics within the section are presented in light-hearted way, which is also mirrored in the main menu.

This is an example of an engaging activity within the course that allows learners to apply what they are learning in the course.

Action Mapping

One of the most amazing aspects of this project was the use of "action mapping", mind mapping (Lucid Chart) and SharePoint to create a development process that allowed all stakeholders up-to-the-minute access to all aspects of the course development.
